This month the Downtown Providence Park’s Conservancy was on The Rhode Show, twice, to talk about some of the events happening in our downtown parks this summer.

First, our Executive Director Cliff Wood joined Doppelgänger Dance Collective’s Shara Baryshnikov to talk about their successful free performance in Kennedy Plaza, The Trail We Left Behind. Shura described the piece, which was choreographed specifically for this space by Rhode Island native Kellie Ann Lynch, and how the project came to happen in the heart of our city center.

Cliff spoke of the importance of art in our public spaces and the work our non-profit does to help bring it to the community. “Performances like this demonstrate the vitality possible in a multi-use public space like Kennedy Plaza.”

A few days later, Kristin Crane was on to talk about the Burnside Music Series + Beer Garden. Kristin shared details on our popular weekly live music series, and also introduced our brand new Burnside Beer Mugs.

Join us for this week’s event with a special double billing featuring The Eyesores & Craig Wreck. For more information on all of our events, subscribe to our events feed on Facebook.
