Happy New Year! We are ready for 2017!
Before we get to 2017, let me take a second to say THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our 2016 year-end fundraiser. It was the most successful fundraiser we’ve ever had, and half of the donations came from brand new donors. Thanks for being personally invested in the work we do in your parks.
Curious about what we accomplished in 2016? Check out this video with highlights of our proudest 2016 moments.
We strongly believe it’s important for communities to come together to make a positive difference, and we’re ready to do just that. What’s on our list for the year?
Our 2017 New Year’s Resolutions
Restore Soldiers & Sailors Monument
Greater Kennedy Plaza will come alive with our new project to restore this historically significant statue and revitalize the area and landscaping surrounding it. We are currently in the middle of a fundraiser to raise the $300,000 needed for the project. If you’d like to be a part of this historic project, consider making a tax-deductible donation today.
Connect Urban Green Spaces
Connecting urban green space through the city into a larger downtown parks network. Together with the 195 Commission we are working to ensure Providence’s new I-195 park will be a flagship space for Providence.
Public Space Programming
A core belief in placemaking is to fill parks and public spaces with positive activity. With that in mind, we will continue to program the park with free educational programs for kids and families, music and cultural events, our popular farmer’s market and daily food trucks.
We look forward to seeing you in the park!
