This week our summer programming starts and we have so much happening that we are excited about.
We are thrilled that our partner, KidoInfo, has joined forces with us once again to help us bring quality family programming to Burnside Park. Each week we offer different events that are all free and open to the public for kids of all ages.
Mondays – Thursdays
From 11:30am 1:30pm our Imagination Center is open. Relax in our open air reading room or play with the Big Blue Blocks in the Imagination Playground.
Tuesdays
KidoInfo Play in the Park is a series of hands-on science and music activities hosted by Miss Katie from playSCIENCE RI. This week’s theme is the Science of Seeds. This take place from 3 – 6pm, while the Downtown Farmer’s Market is set up on Washington Street.
Thursdays
KidoInfo Storytime + Art in the Park takes over the park from 10:30am – 12:30pm. This week at Storytime we’ll be featuring local reenactor and performer John McNiff telling Tales of the Gaspee on the park’s Ship Hannah.
The summer’s Art in the Park theme is Making on the Moon. Every week following Storytime, artist Ricky Katowicz will transform Tomi Ungerer’s books (including Moon Man) into magical hands-on-art-making experiences using all five senses. Free for kids of all ages.
