2017 was a big year for Providence’s downtown parks!
Through our public programming and stewardship, Burnside Park has been a gathering place for people from all over the city, as well as visitors and tourists alike. This year alone, over 15,000 people enjoyed our free events.
We are able to keep these public programs free thanks to the generosity of citizens like you. As 2017 comes to a close, we hope you’ll consider making a year-end contribution to the DPPC.
Unsure if you should give this year? We have 5 accomplishments that will surely convince you.
This summer we built Brandon’s Beach at Burnside Park, thanks to the generosity of the Goldners and their family and friends. This destination playground is a one of a kind design, and is filled daily with kids from all over the city, as well as visitors from around the world.
We worked with a record number of volunteers to help beautify our park. Groups from local schools, businesses and our Downtown Neighborhood Association were planting, painting and cleaning to make the park we share beautiful.
We were invited by the City of Providence the first ever Winter Lights Market. Working together with partners such as EatDrinkRI and Partnership with Providence Parks, we curated a marketplace, performances and illuminated public art for a 2 day event. Photo by Kyle Auclair
We presented free live music in the summer at our Burnside Music Series + Beer Garden, and in the fall at our lunchtime Noon Tunes series. Photo by James Lastowski
We brought authors, illustrators, storytellers, scientists and artists into Burnside Park to inspire literacy and a love of books of learning.
We hope you’ll invest in the work that we do with a tax-deductible donation.
Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our city!
